Tollring Celebrates Carbon Neutral Certification on its Journey to Net Zero

At Tollring, we are proud to announce that we have achieved certification as a Carbon Neutral Business through Carbon Neutral Britain. This milestone marks an important step in our sustainability journey and reinforces our commitment to reducing our environmental impact as we work towards net zero.

While we have offset our emissions for the year, we are also trying to reduce emissions at source wherever possible. As a SaaS provider specialising in conversation intelligence, call analytics and call recording solutions hosted in Microsoft Azure, our environmental impact extends beyond our direct operations and into the wider supply chain, including the cloud infrastructure that powers our services.

We are actively assessing the environmental impact of our suppliers and strengthening relationships with organisations that share our commitment to sustainability. This includes working with partners such as Microsoft, which is progressing towards its goal of becoming carbon negative by 2030.

Our next focus is delivering measurable annual reductions through initiatives including Azure optimisation, decarbonisation of office operations, travel consolidation, sustainable procurement and other environmental improvements.

Hilary Oliver, Chief Customer Officer

“Our first priority was to fully understand our environmental impact across the whole business and to be transparent about the actions we are taking. Sustainability is important to our customers, partners, employees, suppliers and stakeholders, and this certification represents a major step in reducing our environmental footprint. By working with Carbon Neutral Britain, we have selected some innovative global projects to help offset the carbon we currently generate. But this is just the first step. As we continue to develop market-leading AI solutions for customers worldwide, we are acutely aware of the effort that is needed to ensure that our solutions have minimal environmental impact. Understanding our footprint is just the beginning of our journey to net zero"

James Poynter, Director at Carbon Neutral Britain, adds,

“We are delighted to partner with Tollring to help identify and offset their environmental impact for 2025 and beyond.”

As part of our carbon offset programme, Tollring is supporting several internationally recognised sustainability initiatives including:

  • Wind power generation in Maharashtra, India – replacing fossil fuel-based energy through the development and operation of renewable wind farms.
  • Circular agriculture initiatives in the Netherlands – supporting Dutch farming cooperatives that capture methane emissions from manure through biogas technology to generate renewable electricity.
  • Solar lighting projects in Zambia – providing clean, reliable lighting to families without access to electricity while reducing dependence on kerosene lamps.
  • The Salkhit Wind Farm in Mongolia – the country’s first grid-connected wind farm, supplying renewable electricity to Mongolia’s central energy grid.

The certification from Carbon Neutral Britain provides independent assurance that Tollring’s carbon neutral status has been assessed in accordance with internationally recognised ISO 14064 and GHG Protocol standards, following principles of relevance, completeness, consistency, transparency and accuracy.
